Happy new year!

Today, I ran into a problem.
A BIG problem.
You see the country that I want to go to is Switzerland.
aaaand in Switzerland they actually have seasons.
Thats right, Seasons!
And me, being from an island in the middle of the pacific, has never seen seasons changing.
And what do seasons change from?
spring
to
summmer
to
fall
to
winter.
And what happens during winter and fall?
it gets cold.
And that is the root of my problem. Growing up with 80 degree weather your whole life and living in slippers and shorts and not even knowing what to wear in snow and cold weather is a big issue for me.
I only own one thin longsleeve shirt!
How am i going to cope?
So then my mom and I went to sears to look for some winter clothes (eg turtlenecks).
What did we find?
nothing.

thats right! i am going to be on exchange for my juinor year of high school!
and i am going to the big island this weekend for an orientation camp!
it is going to be great.

iiinterveiws were today.
it went really well.
and i finished my application.
though i did get stuck on a few easy questions.-
What are the 3 branches of the US goverment?
What is the capital of Germany?
What are some world events that you know about?
What do you hope to accomnplish as an ambassador?
a few more, i just cant remember them.....
mannn i just dont want to have to do that again.

and the HK club called me after i got home and said that they would host me becasue i am an interacter.

(best decision ever.)

and i almost swore during interveiws! i almost said half-ass. thank god i caught myself.

just kidding about the last post and already having an interveiw! i do not have dates-i have to finish my long term application by december 14 and the first interveiws are on the 15th. then the district interveiws are on the 20th. well atleast now i have some dates and i can work around them. :D

good news!

i think i just had my first interveiw, over the phone. but my wrist is slightly broken and its difficult to type with one hand,so i will make this short. in essence they called me and my mom, (we have two phones) and these two people talked to us about the program for a while. they only asked me 1 question-weather or not i am ok with speaking infront of groups. but other than that they just told me to complete the long term application and that they would see me at the district interveiws! they were talking like "when you go on exchange" not if and they said that there are 10 spots and about 10 applicants and that we have people here from switzerland, italy and spain (my top 3) and they already talked to the people who place exchangers to see if they can put in me in my top choice! and i know alot of people are wanting to go to japan (they said that japan had already filled up) so i dont think many people want to go to the same places i want to go to! so now all i am doing is filling out the forms (it hurts my wrist... cause i broke my right wrist and i am right handed) and i am SOOO excited! i hope this works out!
oh AND i only have to wear my cast for 3 weeks!so i can play soccer again soon!
